This is a 16 piece grouping of individual Imperial era Astro-Hungarian medals which includes a crowned, red enamel 1849 Service Cross. All the members of this lot are different, without duplications, and are completely original to the period. As such, they collectively serve as a representative collection of the various Imperial Austrian decorations issued by the Austrian Empire during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph from 1848 to 1918. In addition to the 1849 Service Medal mentioned above, which was awarded for service to the Hapsburg monarchy during the European wide revolution of 1848, this lot also includes a number of other campaign pieces.
